Diesel Mechanic (Part Time)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain proficiency in the diagnostics and repair of all assigned equipment.
- Assist senior technician in the completion of work
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications to assigned equipment.
- Read and comprehend service troubleshooting guides using OEM software
- Maintain a basic level of skill in diesel after treatment, air brakes, electrical and lighting systems.
- Perform daily yard checks
- Perform safety and annual inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations
- Install, mount, and dismount tires
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns during working hours as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company / OSHA standards
- Interact courteously and professionally with drivers, vendors, and other employees regarding vehicle repairs and shop business.
- Assist in the completion of required documentation including vehicle write-ups, work orders, and timecards.
