Job Summary : SBC Industries is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser and Press Brake Operator to join our team. This role requires the operation and maintenance of both laser cutting equipment and press brake machines to produce high-quality parts that meet our precise standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in metal fabrication, be self-motivated, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities : Set up and operate laser cutting and press brake machines, ensuring proper alignment, clearance, and adjustments for accurate production. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to verify accuracy and determine cutting and bending sequences. Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and nozzles based on production requirements. Load, unload, and position materials accurately for cutting or bending. Monitor machine performance, making adjustments and performing preventive maintenance, including calibration, cleaning, minor repairs, and supply monitoring. Report maintenance issues to management and collaborate on equipment resolutions. Inspect finished products for quality, separating cut parts from scrap, and reporting deficiencies. Package, stack, and organize finished products according to schedules and specifications. Operate forklifts to move materials and parts as needed. Maintain a clean, organized workspace, assisting where necessary within the warehouse. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Perform other duties to support the company’s vision, mission, and values. Job Requirements & Qualifications : 2+ years of laser and press brake machine setup experience in a sheet metal job shop required. Proficiency in TruTops Boost and SolidWorks is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and customer samples for prototype production. Knowledge of different bending techniques and applications, along with the ability to calculate bend allowances, angles, and dimensions. Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and basic mechanical / math skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship, with the ability to identify defects and take corrective action. Reliable attendance and strong time management skills. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking during the shift. Forklift operation experience or willing to undergo training. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. English proficiency required; bilingual candidates are a plus. Certifications such as CPT, NIMS, or manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Trumpf, Amada, Cincinnati) preferred.
