PRIMARY FUNCTION : This position is responsible for the supervision of required activities and personnel in the receiving, casting shed, stockperson, and material handling functions within the Machine Shop.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assign, direct, and observe the daily work and activities of personnel involved with receiving, material handling, stockroom, and casting shed per fulfillment needs.
• Assure that the established policies, rules and regulations, procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement are followed.
• Minimize disruptions to flow within operations; create standard work for what to do when flow is disrupted, resolve or escalate to get timely resolution as needed.
• Monitor and track daily performance metrics on value stream board, including safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
• Ensure an adequate supply of perishable items are available to maintain manufacturing schedules.
• Responsible for sustainment of overall continuous improvement strategy for material storage optimization, PFEP, and material flow.
• Effectively produce written documents such as production reports or procedures / work instructions when necessary.
• Assist in the oversight and management of material handling (tugger) route.
• Sustainment of Kanban system.
