Job Summary :
Arch Recovery Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor to join our team at our residential detox and treatment facility. The Counselor will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to clients through individual and group sessions, promoting recovery, and helping clients navigate their journey to wellness. This role is integral to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that each client receives comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients in our treatment program.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral health, with a focus on identifying factors that contribute to substance use disorders.
Utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care to support clients in recovery.
Facilitate educational and process groups aimed at relapse prevention, life skills development, and emotional regulation.
Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress throughout the treatment program, updating care plans as necessary.
Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on client care to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
Assist in crisis intervention and provide immediate support in cases of emotional or psychiatric distress.
Help clients develop aftercare plans, including referrals to outpatient services and community resources as they transition out of residential care.
Stay current on best practices and advancements in addiction treatment and recovery services through regular professional development and training.
Qualifications :
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
Current and valid LSW, LCSW, or LPC licensure in the state of West Virginia.
Previous experience in addiction counseling and working in a residential / inpatient treatment setting preferred.
Strong therapeutic skills, with experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with the treatment team.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support individuals on their recovery journey.
Basic computer skills for clinical documentation and communication purposes.
Ability to lead and confidently represent our Clinical Program to auditors, the community, surveyors, etc.
