The Licensed Practical Nurse is a critical part of the health care team and contributes to the nursing process through data collection, focused nursing assessment, communication in patient record, and implementing RN developed teaching plans under the direction of an RN. The LPN practices only in a team relationship with at least one licensed health professional who is not an LPN. The LPN assists the RN NC and the clinician in the plan of care for the patients and administers medication or treatment as prescribed by an authorized provider. The LPN may teach or supervise commensurate with the education and demonstrated competencies. The LPN may serve as a group leader and help with team assignments to assure patient and clinician needs are met. The LPN may delegate certain tasks to medical assistants. Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements and clarify issues / processes. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Represents the company externally and provides information on a variety of programs / services

Required Education :

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Certifications, Licenses, Registrations :

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or compact state as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

CPR certified

Required Experience :

Two or more years clinical experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting.
