Kleinschmidt has a full time opening for a Designer-Drafter in Portland, Oregon or Redmond, Washington to support the delivery of hydroelectric and fish passage projects. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely.

Salary : $29.00-45.00 per hour (based on experience)

Required Qualifications

  • Associates in Drafting or similar degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD leading the development of architectural, structural (concrete and steel structures), mechanical, electrical, and civil drawing sets.
  • Proven 3D design experience with ability to visualize and communicate in 3D.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and modeling software (Solidworks, AutoCAD MEP, Revit, BIM, MicroStation, InfraWorks, Recap, and / or 3DsMax).
  • Excellent problem solving skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can integrate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autodesk Advanced Certified Professional
  • Experience with hydropower related projects
  • Additional Requirements

  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license
  • About the Position

    Typical duties of this position include leading the development of drawings of concrete and steel structures and general civil design on hydroelectric and fish passage projects under the direction of mid-and senior-level engineering staff. The scope and scale of projects at Kleinschmidt will engage your curiosity and facilitate professional growth. Travel may be required to gather project information and provide support throughout the project design and construction phases.

    Kleinschmidt focuses on practical solutions with multi-disciplinary teams for renewable energy projects, dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, and stream restorations.     Our Process

    Kleinschmidt strives to provide a great candidate experience. After careful review of resumes, we will notify those we are interested in interviewing. We may ask for more details with an initial screening. Our process normally involves two interviews. The top candidate will then be asked to provide 2-3 references and offered a benefits call, a unique step in our process where we describe our full benefits package.
