Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Shower Aide (CNA) to join our Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring team in Saginaw. Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring is a partnership between Covenant HealthCare and Wellspring to help patients transition from the hospital to home. The new facility is part of a $5 million investment by Covenant and Wellspring to provide the most advanced post-acute care and services in the Great Lakes Bay Region. The Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring also provides physical, occupational and speech therapies performed by Mary Free Bed therapists in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility, working closely with the nursing department to assure the highest quality in post-acute programming.
As a Shower Aide ( CNA) with the Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County.
Responsibilities
As a Shower Aide (CNA) with Wellspring, you will :
- Assist residents with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion and other ADLs.
- Provide individualized attention to encourage each resident's independence and overall well-being.
- Follow and support the resident’s individualized care plan; provide observations and input to care planning staff.
- Maintain resident comfort, privacy, and dignity; interact with residents in a warm, Christ-centered manner.
- Abide by all residents' rights, including being free of restraints and abuse; promptly report any concerns to charge nurse or administration.
- Protect residents’ personal belongings and report missing items according to policy.
- Maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage.
- Respond to resident call lights promptly and courteously.
- Perform tasks assigned by supervisors including preparing residents for visits, collecting vitals, weights, specimens, and reporting resident information.
- Lift, move, and transport residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
- Work past normal shift hours as needed to assure resident care and safety coverage, as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the State of Michigan (required).Experience with seniors in long-term care or rehab preferred.Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.Ability to be pulled on the floor to work as a CNA as needed.Schedule and Compensation
