Manufacturing Manager
Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Coordinates and supervises the daily manufacturing operations performed in a shift or production line, ensuring volume, quality, safety and cost goals are met. Directs daily the activities of the production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Performs monthly financial operating plans, ensuring labor productivity and operating expenses meet or exceed plans.
- Maintains production schedules and works with leads to plan and assign work.
- Collaborates with operations to ensure optimum daily productivity goals are met within customer and company deadlines for sales, on-time delivery, and quality.
- Establishes growth/improvement goals and objectives, along with all relevant key performance indicators. Ensure follow-through on action planning to meet established goals.
- Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to production problems.
- Works closely with plant manager and other functional groups (HR, Quality, Engineering) to achieve overall business objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Provides leadership and direction to associates of assigned department.
- Focuses on training and developing associates.
- Reviews associates performance, makes recommendations and works with local HR on recommending disciplinary actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in applicable field a plus
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Excellent leadership skills including but not limited to: team building, collaboration, consistency, conflict resolution and motivation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma problem solving a strong plus, with proven track record of participating in continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to a maximum of 35 lbs.
- Occasionally bending and lifting at the knees.
- Sitting frequently at waist and shoulder levels.
- Frequently reaching out in front of body.
- Standing and walking intermittently.
- Capable of wearing safety glasses with permanent side shields when on the shop floor.
- Capable of wearing steel-toed safety shoes when on the shop floor.
- Capable of wearing other PPE as required.

Working Conditions
Typical manufacturing setting with moveable, mechanical parts and/or equipment.
In addition to normal manufacturing shop elements regarding temperatures (no air conditioning so warmer in summer months and cooler in winter months), dust, and noise levels (within required limits), working conditions may be somewhat disagreeable due to frequency of vibration (due to volume of parts) and exposure to higher-than-normal dust levels.
