The Museum Division of the Secretary of State is seeking a Police Officer 1, 2 or 3 in the security section of the Old State Capitol.

Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required. Necessary special requirements include : applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a current Louisiana driver's license, and be willing and able to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties :

• Routine patrols of assigned areas of the museum and enforcement of rules and regulations.
• Greet employees and guests.
• Remain vigilant to potential threats to persons and property.
• May serve as shift supervisor in the absence of the Police Sergeant.
• May work special assignments involving large crowd control.
• Monitor security systems and surveillance systems.
• Compiles daily activity logs.
