Materials Quality Manager

This position is responsible for managing materials quality operations across multiple geographical markets. The role focuses on overseeing the quality program related to the production and field placement of construction materials.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Supervise, develop and manage quality professionals in responsible area operations to ensure company quality goals, system requirements and objectives are met
- Manage and support operational area QC personnel including hiring, firing, performance evaluations, training, and development, to ensure a highly competent and engaged workforce
- Ensure quality operations adhere to the requirements outlined in the construction materials playbook and company management system (GMS) to maintain compliance and quality standards
- Develop operational plans for each operating area that clearly defines specific goals, objectives and areas of improvement for the fiscal year to drive continuous improvement
- Actively manage mix design optimization and facilitate the increased use of recycle materials to enhance sustainability and cost-efficiency
- Establish a plant-specific facility quality plan in all responsible operational areas and ensure accountability for the execution of the plan to maintain high-quality standards
- Facilitate and assure effective and efficient collaboration and sharing of resources among Areas and Districts to optimize performance and resource utilization
- Coordinate regular quality focused meetings with area quality and construction materials teams to review materials quality key performance metrics and drive improvements
- Conduct quality audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials quality program and ensure compliance with company standards
- Track material quality incidents using the company defined process and conduct collaborative learning events (CLE) for significant issues, preparing and sharing quality alerts companywide to support continuous improvement
- Determine appropriate staffing levels to execute both mix design and production testing of construction materials to optimize cost while managing acceptance risk
- Manage quality operations business systems including budget and quarterly forecast development to achieve breakeven cost center financial performance
- Provide technical support for operations to ensure rapid resolution of technical challenges, client concerns, and identify knowledge transfer needs
- Support the evaluation and implementation of new material technologies throughout responsible area operations to drive innovation and efficiency
Education
Bachelor's degree required in engineering or comparable disciplineEquivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degreeRegistered Professional Engineer desiredWork Experience
12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or15+ years of technical, managerial or quality experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Base Salary Range : $142,668.00 - $260,123.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
