Night & Weekend Shifts Required

Responsible for selecting "the best of the best" products for our online shoppers. Will also be responsible for accurately selecting groceries ordered online by our customers.

Accountable and reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Online Shopping Department Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Smiling and greeting customers in a friendly manner
• Making an effort to learn customers' names
• Assisting customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
• Answering the telephone and emails promptly and providing friendly, helpful service
• Accurately selecting groceries ordered online by customers
• Selecting highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products
• Selecting, scanning, and bagging items from all temperature zones
• Adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines
• Reporting to work when scheduled and on time

Secondary duties and responsibilities include:

• Tendering customer orders through POS and charging the customer's credit card
• Gathering orders, placing in storage at proper temperature, and retrieving prior to customer's arrival
• Ensuring products maintain proper temperature through the entire process
• Carting to and placing in holding area for pick-up
• Lifting, carrying, and loading groceries into customer vehicle
• Continually monitoring incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment
• Performing other job-related duties and special projects as required

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include commitment to the Hy-Vee mission, good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to identify problems, develop and execute solutions, ability to substitute products for customers, well organized, ability to multi-task, ability to work independently, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements include visual requirements, ability to perform medium work, and ability to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working conditions include exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes, possible hazards from moving equipment and possible electrical shock, constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.

Equipment used to perform job includes pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, fork lift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax.

Has daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.
