As a Security Professional - Access Control - Unarmed Post in Schenectady, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a higher education location. Your responsibilities will focus on access control, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help to deter security-related incidents through your presence and attention to detail. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, providing support to students, faculty, and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service. By remaining visible and approachable, you will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere and assist with any security-related concerns that may arise. What You'll Do :
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities :
Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at the education location.Monitor and control access to buildings and restricted areas, verifying credentials and granting or denying entry as appropriate.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the education environment.Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.Maintain detailed and accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and access control operations.Assist with crowd management and / or traffic control during special events or busy periods at the location.Collaborate with campus staff and local law enforcement, as needed, to address security-related issues in a professional manner.What We're Looking For :
