Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Networking is seeking a highly skilled DDoS and Network Security Architect with deep Linux network data path expertise and extensive experience in customer application protection. In this pivotal role, you will architect and implement advanced network and application security solutions-including multi-layer DDoS mitigation, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and adaptive WAF services-to protect OCI's world-class networking platform and its customers' applications from evolving threats. This role demands collaboration across OCI engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver high-performing, highly available, and secure networking and application protection services at cloud scale.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Security Architecture : Design and deliver robust DDoS detection, mitigation, and application-layer security (WAF / Adaptive WAF) solutions for OCI's global network infrastructure and customer-facing services.
Linux Network Data Path Engineering : Optimize Linux-based network data paths leveraging technologies such as eBPF, XDP, Netfilter, and other kernel networking features for best-in-class performance and protection.
Customer Application Protection : Build innovative, scalable application protection solutions-including public-facing WAF and Adaptive WAF-that defend customer workloads against web-based threats such as OWASP Top 10, bots, and zero-day attacks.
Proxy and Load Balancer Solution Design : Enhance L3 / L4 and L7 proxy / load balancer capabilities in OCI's networking stack, driving security, reliability, and scalability for traffic management and application defense.
Service Integration : Partner with platform and product teams to ensure seamless integration of network and application security features (DDoS, WAF, threat intelligence, behavioral analytics) across all OCI networking services.
Operational Collaboration : Work closely with SRE, Security Operations, and Networking Engineering teams for incident response, playbook development, and post-mortem analysis of network and application security events.
Performance and Resilience Engineering : Continuously analyze and optimize security services for high throughput, low latency, and maximum availability in OCI's multi-tenant cloud environment.
Technical Thought Leadership : Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats-contributing to OCI's roadmap for adaptive, AI / ML-driven security and customer protection solutions.

US : Hiring Range in USD from : $136,600 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off : Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
