About the Position : We are seeking an experienced medicinal chemist as a core member of our chemistry team. This role will work closely with computational chemists, biologists, and external partners to drive SAR exploration and solve challenging problems. The ideal candidate has experience leading medicinal chemistry projects, mentoring junior staff, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions in drug discovery. This is an on-site position in Boulder, CO.
Responsibilities :
- Lead medicinal chemistry projects to discover high quality development candidates.
- Design and execute synthetic routes to novel small molecules at various production scales, and lead internal and external chemistry teams to deliver material to study sites.
- Drive SAR analysis and compound optimization to improve potency, selectivity, ADME / PK, and safety profiles across multiple programs.
- Collaborate closely with computational chemists, structural biologists, and pharmacologists to integrate data into design strategies.
- Prepare presentations and present data to our internal team and external partners
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Contribute to target selection, platform development, and portfolio strategy.
- Maintain awareness of the latest advances in medicinal chemistry and biophysical methods, including computational tools and high-throughput biochemical methods, and integrate cutting-edge techniques and technologies into Think Bioscience's discovery processes.
Qualifications :
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of experience in small-molecule drug discovery in biotech or pharma.Proven track record of leading medicinal chemistry projects to advance novel hits / leads into candidates.Strong understanding of contemporary medicinal chemistry optimization strategies from diverse starting points.Expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry and practical problem-solving.Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams and communicate complex conceptsExperience managing scientific collaborations and outsourced teams.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated productivity through patents, publications, or contributions to development candidates, and experience with IP strategy for small molecule therapeutics.What We Offer :
