Responsibilities
Ensure all aquatic life receive appropriate care, adhering to operational guidelines, completing maintenance, assessing health, and creating Incident Reports.Maintain a high level of expertise through training programs and educate colleagues in aquatic care and maintenance.Place aquatic life orders and special-order requests to maximize sales and inventory.Act as the primary resource for aquatic education and care using the sales model.Participate in aquatic life inventory counts and collaborate with the CAL on inventory management analysis and improvement recommendations.Stock, price, and display aquatic life and merchandise, performing housekeeping tasks such as aquarium system maintenance, floor sweeping / mopping, and dusting.Accurately complete required digital paperwork (e.g., water test results, receiving POs) in a timely manner.Perform additional duties and projects as assigned with or without regular supervision.Other Essential Duties
Use selling behaviors to deliver an amazing guest experience.Contribute to a safe environment, maintaining safety protocols for partners, guests, and pets.Be part of a collaborative culture and support teamwork.Engage in career development through developmental programs.Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience with freshwater and marine aquatic life.High level of knowledge of aquatic life and aptitude for sales techniques.Professional appearance and demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their care.Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills due to interaction with the public and partners.Completion of all assigned Petco Animal Care training programs.High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting.Exceptional communication skills.Supervisory Responsibility

The majority of duties are conducted indoors. The role requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.

Salary and Compensation
Salary Range : $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Start Rate : $17.50 per hour
