Job Description
Position Summary :
Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the EMR application for its use in quality improvement and education activities following organizational, professional, regulatory and accrediting body policies, procedures, requirements, and standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Assists with review and implementation of EMR activities for best practice and clinical outcomes.
- Conducts clinical training on EMR applications during new hire orientation and ongoing basis as necessary.
- Creates and updates training material on EMR application as needed.
- Assists in conducting training programs as necessary and collaborates with the orientation process for needs of new employees.
- Assists IT team with EMR application, user access (i.e. passwords, logons) and privileges, custom catalog, maintenance, structure, and format standards.
- Assists, prepares and presents at staff meetings new information related to the EMR system.
- Responsible for EMR form changes, including leading forms team, monitoring completion of task.
- Serves as a resource for managers, supervisors and clinical staff as it relates to EMR.
- Participates in and documents IT team meeting minutes.
- Works collaboratively with Education department on improvement of quality outcomes as it relates to the use and application of the EMR system.
- Collaborates with IT department to coordinate EMR update releases; focusing on clinical areas.
- Documents and tracks clinical request for form changes.
- Audits quality management aspects of the clinical record as it relates to use of the EMR system.
- Monitors and reports defined metrics in coordination with Quality, Home Health, Hospice, telehealth, and Palliative Care Departments, as required.
- Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars as requested and completes applicable reading to remain current on informatics management and related information.
- Participates in performance improvement activities, as requested.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required Qualifications :
Current License to practice as a RN in the State of MichiganBaccalaureate degree or equivalent experience in Informatics or related field.Minimum 2-years' experiencePossess an excellent understanding of healthcare related workflows and terminology along with a deep understanding of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and related clinical informatics system capabilities.Demonstrated knowledge of current clinical technologies with experience supporting the aspects of the system lifecycle.Preferred Qualifications :
