Our Client is seeking a CAD Designer – Plastics/Foams/Structures for an extendable, W2-only, 9-month Contract position in Newark, CA. This position pays $37-47/hr. W2.
Summary:
This position requires experienced professionals responsible for designing and developing seating components using Catia 3DX for a world-class vehicle in terms of both styling and function. Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. They will also act as mentors to more junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Be a significant contributor to a world-class seating team.
• Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of seating components in the Client’s portfolio.
• Work with the DREs /Lead Engineers/ Broader stakeholders to assure CAD is updated per team agreements and adherent to industry standards and design guidelines.
• Employ and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development.
Required Skills:
• Must have been part of at least 2 full programs from start to finish.
• Previous knowledge of seating systems.
• Experienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concepts efficiently, also packaging layouts, and DFM studies, specifically with CATIA 3DX.
• The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working in a cross-functional team involving multiple-vehicle systems.

• Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
• A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical.
• Design experience operating with CATIA 3DX.
• Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) to communicate effectively with the different vehicle systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in science or in a relevant discipline.
