Material Handler

C&S Wholesale Grocers focuses on feeding local families, neighbors, and communities. As a Material Handler, you will safely pick, pack, and transport products. You will also perform other duties as assigned.

You will contribute by : utilizing electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and carts to pick products to fill customer orders or assist to bring down pallets of reserve stock to replenish pick slots; manually picking parts / cases of product from warehouse racks to fill customer orders; building pallets of products picked to fill the orders; ensuring accuracy of work and adherence to production, quality, and safety standards; packing parts in boxes or fitting products on a pallet; ensuring heavy products on the bottom to reduce damage, plastic wrapping them, and loading them onto a trailer.

Your work environment may include : warehouse : grocery warehouse (50F to 90F).

Skills : specialized knowledge : MHE / forklift certification. Ability to operate stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, reach truck, cherry picker, or other required materials handling equipment (MHE). Ability to operate battery hoist. Compliance with all company policies and procedures. Special skills : to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Demonstrates commitment and ability to work safely. Show reliability and maintain satisfactory attendance. Produce quality work. Ability to maintain required productivity / work expectations. Physical abilities : sometimes crawling, sitting, occasionally climbing up to 4 ft. (must have fall protection training and using proper fall protection equipment). Occasionally balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling and crawling. Frequently handling, fingering, talking, smelling, reaching (level : waist / overhead, etc.). Occasionally gripping, carrying, pivoting, pushing, lifting, pulling up to 60 lbs. Occasionally standing and walking on surface type (s) : carpet, tile, concrete. Continuously sitting, hearing, seeing and repetitive movement using both hands and feet.

Years of experience : 0-2. Warehouse experience preferred but not required.
