Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Kealakekua, Hawaii (96750) – Big Island nursing jobs

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Start Date : November 10, 2025

End Date : February 9, 2026

Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract

Hours per Week : 36 hours

Shift : 12-hour shifts

Healthcare Setting : Med-Surg Adult, Telemetry Med / Surg, Med-Surg Peds units

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1990 - $2130

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Hawaii or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical (Med / Surg) nursing experience

Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system required

Ability to float between two medical-surgical / telemetry units and provide care for Med-Surg overflow in ICU and ED

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in Med / Surg and Telemetry units

Float between assigned units as needed, including providing clinical support in ICU and Emergency Department (ED) for Med-Surg overflow

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment using EPIC EMR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
