The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the structured workflow of outbound product. Daily responsibilities include allocating orders among the distribution team, assigning outbound order staging and ensuring that the correct loads are shipped on to their assigned trucks. The shipping coordinator will act as the warehouse team lead and work with the warehouse team on labor needs to ensure timely product flow. The Shipping Coordinator will prioritize / assign shipments then release the shipments to be picked by the distribution team members. The Shipping Coordinator must maintain effective communication with the customers. The Shipping Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager. He or She is considered the load planner and controls all outbound flow of material.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Manage the outbound process flow and prioritize outbound workflow with the distribution team.
- Facilitator for customer service issues
- Manage order discrepancies.
- Receive all inbound orders from Homebuilding facilities.
- Maximize outbound truckload capacity through optimal load planning to minimize delivery expenses.
- Plan outbound deliveries for both first and second shift.
- Coordinate logistics of outbound shipments with contracted carriers to Homebuilding facilities.
- Assign outbound delivery schedule to shipping personnel.
- Communicate internally of potential distribution disruptions.
- Coordinate available resources to meet customer material deadlines.
- Manage customer SLA expectations.
- Process external sales orders in ERP.
- Troubleshoot ERP issues for facility personnel and train new Team Members in ERP (Oracle) usage.
- Generate shipment, past-due orders, cancelled order reports from ERP and communicate to facility leaders. Assist with action items for abating shipment issues.
- Maintain reporting dashboard for operational reporting.
- Verify inventory shortages and coordinate availability of shipment with Material Planners.
- Ensure efficient flow of products out of warehouse & scheduling trucks based on the transit time.
- Coordinate expedited orders.
- Ensure order line fulfillment is maintained at 98% efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners to maximize fulfillment and meet customer expectations.
- Ability to maximize truck capacity to minimize delivery expenses.
Qualifications :
