Lead Radiology Technologist

Position Summary

Oversees and provides direction to staff members related to completion of work, work schedules and work assignments. Receives and processes paperwork such as x-ray request and patient records accurately and in a timely manner. Evaluates film for technical quality. Assists Radiologists / ED Physicians in the validity of exams being performed and ordered. Performs age specific patient examination demonstrating awareness of safety and care for each age group. Performs necessary warm-up procedures on equipment, restocks room at end of shift so areas are adequately supplied for efficient patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Work Experience

Two years of Radiology Technologist experience required.

Education

Completion of Radiologic Technology program required.

Certifications / Licensure

State of Kentucky Radiation Operator Certification required.

Registration with the ARRT required. If certified by the State of Kentucky prior to 1978 candidates are considered grandfathered into the profession and registration with the ARRT is not required.
