Simulation Educator – Health Sciences Simulation Center

Location : San Mateo, CA | Samuel Merritt University

Samuel Merritt University is seeking a Simulation Educator to join our Health Sciences Simulation Center (HSSC). In this role, you’ll support simulation-based learning, collaborate with faculty, and help create immersive educational experiences that prepare future healthcare professionals for real-world practice.

What You’ll Do

Facilitate simulation sessions and lead effective learner debriefings
Partner with faculty to design, implement, and evaluate simulation-based learning activities
Mentor faculty on best practices in simulation and debriefing
Support curriculum development and interprofessional education initiatives
Collaborate with Simulation Technology Specialists to ensure seamless session execution
Contribute to research, innovation, and continuous improvement within the simulation center

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in a health profession, education, or related field

2+ years of experience in simulation-based teaching & learning

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred

Master’s degree in a related field

RN license (compact or CA, within last 5 years preferred)

Experience with simulation technology or education-focused software

Team Expectations

Use TeamSTEPPS™ tools to support effective communication and teamwork.

Participate in community outreach and educational events through the HSSC.
