Senior Contracts Administrator
The Senior Contracts Administrator will play a critical role in managing the contractual and commercial aspects of architectural projects. This position ensures that contracts are prepared, negotiated, and administered in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
The successful candidate will work closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients to support the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities :
Contract Management & Administration :
- Responsible for coordinating all architectural functions from the receipt of RFPs and proposals through the completion of construction.
- Draft, review, and negotiate client, consultant, and contractor agreements
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal, insurance, and company policy requirements.
- Prepare contract summaries and risk assessments for leadership review.
- Prepares all billings for Consultants (i.e. Engineering, Design Partners, etc.)
Project Support & Compliance :
Advise project managers and design teams on contractual obligations and deliverables.Monitor project milestones, variations, extensions of time, and fee adjustments.Administer change orders, addenda, and subconsultant agreements.Support resolution of claims, disputes, or contract performance issues.Risk & Financial Management :
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align billing, invoicing, and cost controls with contract terms.Provide input into fee proposals, budgets, and project forecasts.Process Improvement & Leadership :
Mentor junior contract administrators or project staff.Develop and implement best practices for contract management and document control.Stay current with changes in contract law, professional liability, and industry standardsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 8 years of experience in contract administration, preferably within an architectural, engineering, or construction environmentExperience with large-scale, multi-disciplinary design projectsUnderstanding of architectural project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM at Risk, etc.)Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word)Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrentlyStrong knowledge of standard form agreementsExcellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skillsAttention to detail with a proactive and solution-oriented mindsetCommitment to professional integrity, confidentiality, and teamworkSalary : $74,000 - $84,000 annually, based on education, licensing, and relevant industry experience
