Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN Manager with at least two years of clinical and leadership experience and a CO or compact RN license for a day shift leadership role in a general surgery unit.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a hospital general surgery unitOperates in an OR setting managing day-to-day unit operationsDay shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6 : 30am to 4 : 00pmOn-call responsibilities for administrative needs during nights and weekendsUses Epic EMR for chartingRole involves supervising and managing the clinical nursing team in the surgical departmentResponsible for staff competency, orientation, evaluations, and annual trainingOversees unit budget, staffing, resource allocation, and regulatory complianceContributes to departmental and organizational strategic planning and upholds professional standardsFunction as a resource for collaborative decision-making and champion shared governanceWill report to a Nurse Director with responsibilities covering both tactical and strategic objectivesMay be required to coordinate with accrediting bodies for ongoing complianceProfessional attire or scrubs may be required in accordance with unit standardsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyRequirements
Current RN license in Colorado or a compact state, with valid license in handValid BLS certification from AHA required, not expiring before start dateBachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution requiredAt least two years of clinical nursing experience and prior leadership or supervisory experience requiredAt least one year of experience in OR nursing requiredDemonstrated communication skills, problem-solving, financial management, and mentorship abilitiesMust be able to complete the employer's required leadership training within one yearExperience with resource management and maintaining patient safety standardsBenefits
