Job description

Treasury Intern

As a Treasury Intern at Matthews International, you will support the Treasury team in managing the company's cash operations, financial transactions, and reporting processes. This role offers hands-on experience with enterprise-level treasury functions, exposure to banking and insurance operations, and collaboration across departments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists Treasurer in managing overall enterprise cash and liquidity position of business.
  • Prepares wire transfers, issues stop payments, performs research on Accounts Payable checks as needed.
  • Manages daily funds flow (inbound and outbound wire transfers, account transfers, etc.).
  • Performs all electronic payment requests.
  • Complies monthly and quarterly cash report.
  • Researches and investigates internal and external inquiries.
  • Approves and processes daily payment orders in SAP.
  • Own certain month-end close processes.
  • Prepare and maintain support for external auditors in coordination with quarterly and annual audits.

Qualifications / Requirements

Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in a Treasury related field at a recognized college or university High / Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, SAP ERP / BPC / BI, Outlook & Internet applications. Strong / Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. Strong / Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). Solid / Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts as well as knowledge of US GAAP. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and management. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. Ability to work overtime as necessary. (Only for hourly employees) Must have current driver's license. (Only for employees who drive company vehicle)
