Senior Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Job Description Job Description Ensight Energy is growing, and we seek an experienced Senior Engineer to lead technical advisory and engineering consulting across a diverse portfolio of energy technologies. Ensight Energy is an engineering and energy consulting firm which specializes in providing technical advisory services and solutions to some of the most complex energy projects. Our team has extensive technical due diligence experience and has supported various energy technologies including renewables, electric transmission, power, and oil and gas-providing technical advisory services to hundreds of GW of projects. Responsibilities : Lead technical due diligence for project financing, including preparation and review of detailed engineering reports. Collaborate with clients, developers, and financiers to ensure project success from early-stage development through COD. Conduct independent engineering assessments and technology reviews for major equipment, including PV modules, inverters, BESS, and microgrid components. Provide technical input and direction to internal project teams and external stakeholders. Mentor and guide junior engineers and project managers. Review and evaluate commissioning test procedures and results to ensure compliance and performance. Implement and continuously improve internal project management processes, quality assurance procedures, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with precision and professionalism, consistently exceeding client expectations. Ensure all project work, including report generation, is completed within budget and aligned with client goals and team objectives. Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals, and RFP responses. Review, evaluate, and provide expert opinions on equipment specifications and system design documentation. Analyze and assess project contractual agreements to identify risks and ensure technical alignment. Represent Ensight Energy at industry conferences, workshops, and client meetings, enhancing the company's technical reputation and visibility. Offer strategic insight on emerging technologies and evolving industry standards to support innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications : Degree in engineering Experience in providing Owner's Engineering / Independent Engineering 5 years prior consulting or engineering experience in utility-scale solar and battery storage projects Proficiency in reviewing project design documentation and project contractual agreements Experience in energy modeling and assessments Experience working effectively with technical and commercial business stakeholders, including strong facilitation skills Extensive network of connections among essential stakeholders in the solar industry, such as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, developers, lenders, tax-equity investors, and more Understanding of tax credits and their impact on project expenses Renewable energy consulting or development experience Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S. Compensation & Benefits : Salary : $125,000-$145,000 DOE FLSA Status : Full Time, Exempt Location : Remote, some travel required within the US Reports To : Senior Project Engineer Unlimited PTO Policy Must be authorized to work in the US, unable to sponsor work visas Health Insurance and Retirement benefits Ensight Energy is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
