About the Role

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale infrastructure and civil construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, roadways, utilities, earthwork, and site development.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans in coordination with field teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor management, including contract negotiation, scope alignment, and performance oversight.
  • Monitor project progress, safety compliance, and quality control, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Prepare and present project reports, cost forecasts, and schedule updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor field staff, superintendents, and assistant project managers to drive accountability and performance.
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, and scope changes, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

  • Previous project management experience in heavy civil construction (years flexible depending on candidate).
  • Knowledge of civil construction means and methods, scheduling, estimating, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • OSHA and safety certifications preferred but not required.
