Pediatric RN Job Details – Fort Wayne, IN Location : Fort Wayne, Indiana 46845 (Midwest healthcare hub) Unit : Pediatric Unit (28 beds) Employment Type : Travel Nurse Contract Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Contract Length : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift, 7pm – 7am (12-hour shifts) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Dress Code : Caribbean blue scrubs Estimated Weekly Salary : $2250-$2310 Pediatric Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Indiana RN license or compact state RN license Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric nursing experience in a hospital setting Experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center and 400 bed facility required Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system IV skills preferred BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA required PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification through AHA required Pediatric RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients (ages 3 days to 18 years) with a variety of conditions, including trauma, respiratory illnesses (such as RSV), surgical needs, and birth defects Provide care for COVID-positive pediatric patients as necessary Utilize EPIC for electronic charting and Pyxis for medication administration Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4 for optimal patient care Float to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed to support the healthcare team Participate in a comprehensive orientation program, including 24 hours of precepted training on the unit Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality, family-centered care Ready to take the next step in your pediatric nursing career?
