Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Advertising Coordinator to support our sales, marketing and promotion teams. This role involves managing ad trafficking, campaign reporting, content coordination, and providing general operational support to ensure that advertising and promotional efforts run smoothly from planning through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ad Trafficking & Inventory Management
Schedule and upload ads to platforms (e.g. print, website, social media, newsletters).
Monitor and manage ad inventory (e.g. Google Ad Manager / Broadstreet, MediaOS).Work with IT to troubleshoot issues with ad systems and inventories.Track campaign progress and deliver timely reports to ad reps and management.Promotions & Special ProjectsRun contests and promotions (e.g. IG contests, Free Ticket Thursday, etc.).
Coordinate with editorial, newsletter teams, and reps for promotions.Work with external partners (e.g. reps) to set up / approve clients, offers. Maintain client follow-ups, cold calls, payment collection as needed.Cross-Functional Collaboration & SupportProvide vacation coverage for sales reps
Act as liaison between sales, editorial, promotions (and other departments as needed).Proofread newsletters, promotional materials, and verify in-house ad / editorial links.Help strategize ways to improve efficiency and discover new revenue streams. Provide general support where needed, stepping into gaps.Requirements :
Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to juggle multiple campaigns / tasks.Detail-oriented, with good proofreading skills (making sure links, copy, creatives are correct).Experience with sales-oriented CRM (Salesforce, MediaOS, Monday etc.)Comfortable with both creative tasks (ad design / layout adjustments) AND quantitative work (campaign metrics, reporting).Good communication skills — coordinating between sales, editorial, marketing, external reps.Familiarity with digital ad platforms (Google Ad Manager), social media scheduling, newsletter tools (Mailchimp).Ability to troubleshoot technical or process issues.Pro-active, able to anticipate needs; willing to help across functions.Ability to work in high pressure situations in a composed and professional manner.Preferred Experience
Proven experience in a support or administrative role (particularly in media or advertising)Experience with promo / contest execution.Some knowledge of design or web-based tools (for creating basic ads / landing pages).Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.Reporting & Workflow
You’ll report to the Publishers of the Stranger and the MercuryYou’ll collaborate closely with sales reps, editorial team, promotions, marketing, and production / design.Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt, position with a hybrid work schedule (both in-office and remote). Typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM with occasional nights and weekends. The salary for this position is $70,000 annually.
