The Behavioral Health Specialist plays a crucial role in providing primary care-based behavioral health services for clients facing complex or chronic needs. The position is designed to deliver counseling and therapeutic services integrated into the overall care plan directed by primary care providers. We are looking for either a PsyD / PhD clinical psychologist or an independently licensed Master's-level mental health therapist.

Position Highlights :
$123,000 yearly compensation
$10,000 Hiring Bonus Structure :At Hire : $3,000

Provide on-site behavioral health services in a primary care clinic.Consult with Providers to support the primary care of patients.Act as the primary mental health Provider or assist as needed.Support the care team with diagnostic assessments and relational perspectives.Collaborate across disciplines to offer comprehensive biopsychosocial-spiritual care, addressing team and patient goals.Utilize culturally informed and evidence-based practices for effective decision-making and healthcare navigation.Work within a multidisciplinary team on treatment plans, patient advocacy, and clinic operations.Conduct training for staff and community organizations based on expertise.Develop research-related funding proposals.Collaborate with other Providers to manage referrals.Provide coverage and backup for colleagues as needed.Assist in patient assignment to team clinicians.Perform additional duties as required.Ensure clinical responsibilities align with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), American Psychological Association (APA) standards, and YVFWC requirements.Represent the program at meetings as directed by behavioral health or clinic leadership.Participate in the development of new programs and initiatives related to Behavioral Health.Qualifications :
Clinical Psychologist Requirements :
Education : Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.Experience Preferred : One year's clinical experience with a multidisciplinary team in primary care or medical settings, providing assessments in primary care. One year's clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in specialty behavioral health settings.Licenses / Registration : Licensed Psychologist in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.Master's Level Therapist Requirements :
Education : Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.Experience Required : Two years of post-master's experience in direct treatment of individuals with mental illness or emotional challenges, gained under a mental health professional's supervision.Licenses : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire. Must possess one of the following licenses (must apply within one week of hire if not current) :Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)Bilingual (English / Spanish) is preferred but not required.
