Job descriptionInspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to construction standards and specifications. Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports, field measurements, and computations for work eligible for payment. Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials such as soil, concrete, etc. Prepare monthly pay applications and change orders for client review. Assist project management in identifying problems and developing solutions. Manage and lead other construction supervisors and inspection staff on multiple projects. Review construction documents for constructability issues and provide feedback. Respond to RFIs from contractors and facilitate responses. Represent the firm at meetings, lead client coordination, and prepare meeting minutes. Work in outdoor environments with exposure to extreme temperatures; perform physical activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned. 5+ years of construction inspection experience, preferably in transportation, water, or utility projects. Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Knowledge of construction material quality requirements. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with INDOT, KYTC, or local agency inspections is highly preferred. INDOT Certified Technician, Qualified Technician, and SiteManager Certification are preferred. Valid Driver's License.
