Overview
Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking an Environmental Licensing Specialist. In this role, you will bring your expertise to aid in your interaction with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, help you gather data during site visits, and stay updated on environmental regulations. You will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This position can be based out of one of the following offices :
Kennesaw, GA
- Oklahoma, OK
- Naperville, IL
- Overland Park, KS
- Dallas, TX
Responsibilities
As an Environmental Specialist, you'll conduct comprehensive reviews to assess the impact of nuclear facilities on natural resources, prepare detailed reports, and support licensing applications. Your role also involves developing protection measures, presenting complex information, and occasionally traveling for fieldwork.
Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resourcesPrepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelinesParticipate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impactsSupport the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessmentsSupport environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory CommissionInteract with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concernsStay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practicesAssist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measuresPrepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to travel / work in the field 10% of the time. Typical travel duration will be 3-4 days. Office work is typically 90% of the time for this position. Fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agenciesQualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.)Experience working with federal or state regulatory agenciesExperience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviewsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications / Skills
Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related fieldExperience with environmental impact assessments and environmental report preparationAn understanding of nuclear facility operations and potential environmental impactsPrevious experience permitting utility projects (nuclear, hydropower, renewable and / or oil & gas)Experience working with the Nuclear Regulatory CommissionProfessional registration (e.g., PE, PG, PMP, etc.) preferredLI-MB1
Salary Range
The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Pay Range
USD $60,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 / Yr.
