Responsibilities
- Assisting the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of treatment intervention
- Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients; strength, mobility and function.
- Providing training to individuals and any others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results of the training
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Supporting individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the multi-disciplinary team members as appropriateOther duties as assignedQualifications
Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training programCurrent Occupational Therapist Assistant certification in state of practiceCurrent CPR cerification in accordance with state regulations.Knowledge of evidence based therapy interventionsFamiliarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics and / or home health
One year preferredNew grads encouraged to applyAbility to lift 50 poundsMoving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety proceduresDuties require fine motor skills,visual acuity, and walking / standing for extended periodsAdditional physical requirements include : pushing / pulling, bending / stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at timesA health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
