Reporting to : Managing Director

Summary of Position : Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources and Employee Relations

Summary of Essential Functions :

  • Recruitment and retention for all hotel employees, including but not limited to phone screening, preliminary interviewing, candidate selection, and onboarding
  • Develop, update and log company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Manage employee relations, employee investigations, documentation, and disciplinary action
  • Maintain federal and state compliance in regards to wage an hour, health and safety, FMLA, LOA
  • Manage and maintain all general liability & workers comp claims
  • Manage and maintain employee benefits
  • Oversee performance management, develop individuals and teams
  • Generate background checks, administer new hire paperwork and conduct new hire orientations
  • Create and manage accurate employee information and files
  • Coordinate staff and management training
  • Coordinate monthly employee recognition events such as Employee of the Quarter, staff parties and events
  • Ensure confidentiality of employees and guests.
  • Any other requests made by Managing Director or Director of Finance

Summary of Job Requirements :

  • Must have 3+ years' experience in Human Resources Management or similar position.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English - and working Spanish is preferable
  • Detail oriented with ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel, as well as hiring systems.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and follow up skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Summary of Physical Requirements :

  • Periodically bending and stretching is required.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate with employees.
