ICF is seeking a Substation Senior Project Engineer to support the design of high voltage substations. This individual will join our collaborative design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians with the goal of delivering excellent quality design engineering and deliverables for our clients.

What you will be doing :
This position will lead and manage a multi-discipline team in the development of engineering substation designs on high voltage substation projects in the Baltimore area, with the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services.
Create complete IFC designs across substation disciplines : physical, protection & control, studies, relay settings, SCADA, civil, and structuralDevelop and review design deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standardsPerform engineering studies and calculations to ensure reliable, efficient substation operations.Coordinate with substation designers and drafters to translate engineering requirements into construction-ready drawingsReview vendor drawings and specs, ensuring proper equipment selectionStay current with evolving standards, implementing best practices for safety, reliability, and cost-effectivenessParticipate in client meetings and perform site visits for data gathering as requiredCoordinate with internal and external partners to address structural-related issues or concernsProvide thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketchesPerform other duties and special projects as assigned by managementContinuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performanceAdditional Responsibilities :

Bachelor’s degree in engineeringAt least 10 years of professional engineering experience in the power industry (specific to HV substation design)8+ years of experience using electrical engineering analysis software, AutoCAD or equivalentWhat we would like you to have (professional skills) :
Knowledge of the National Electric Code and various Standard Industry CodesAssertive, able to cope with pressure, a team playerProficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skillsPreferred : Professional Engineering LicenseExperience leading a team of substation engineers to bring a project from concept to completionExperience in substation deliverable packages of 30 / 60 / 90 / IFC designs and construction supportAbility to prioritize work while working on multiple projectsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFamiliarity with Substation 3D modelling and AutoCad Electrical designKnowledge of substation design principlesICF is an equal opportunity employer. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is : $118,730.00 - $201,840.00 Maryland Remote Office (MD99)
