As a Medicare Benefit Advisor, you'll leverage your Medicare expertise and sales skills to guide retired seniors in choosing the best Medicare Life and Health Plans for their needs. With comprehensive training and a competitive salary, you'll help clients understand options like Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Part D drug plans. Advisors contract with multiple insurance companies, offering unbiased recommendations and assistance throughout the enrollment process at no direct cost to clients, as they are compensated by the insurance companies.

Requirements
To become an independent Medicare insurance advisor, you need to obtain a health insurance license, often a combined life and health license, while meeting age requirements and passing a background check. The process includes pre-licensing courses, state licensing exams, and annual training for specific products like Medicare Advantage plans.
Steps to Become a Medicare Advisor :
1.
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
2.
Check your states insurance licensing division or the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) for specific details.
3.
Enroll in a course to prepare for the licensing exam.
4.
Schedule and complete the state-administered licensing exam.
5.
Submit your application, including a background check and fingerprinting.
6.
Become appointed with the insurance companies for the Medicare plans you plan to sell.
7.
Finish the required training and exams from Medicare carriers each year.
