RN Clinical Coordinator
Position Summary
Responsible for facilitating patient flow through the unit, reviewing staffing and creating nursing assignments supervisor patient care, expediting tests and services with other departments, and ensuring compliance with all DOH, TLC and hospital regulations.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Assumes the responsibility of clinical oversight for a given shift to facilitate patient throughput.
2. Makes patient / nurse assignments taking into account patient acuity and staff experience level.
3. Collaborates and communicates with Administrative Nursing Supervisor, health care providers, and staff to expedite patient flow, address medical and patient satisfaction issues, and collaborate with discharge planners to carry out discharge plans.
4. Committed to shared governance, support of nursing research, quality improvement, practice confidentiality and acknowledges fiscal responsibility to benefit the organization as a whole
5. Participates in staff evaluation and education requirements, and acts as an experienced role model and support for all staff members including new hires.
Qualifications
Minimum Education : Required :
All hires are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing OR be currently enrolled in a BSN program.
Associates Degree AND 3 years of experience in the specialty area will be accepted in lieu of BSN.
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation) :
Required :
At least 1 year of L&D
Preferred :
At least 5 years of L&D
License, Registry or Certification :
Required :
Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association CPR certification.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
American Heart Association / American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
Preferred :
Certification in specialty.
NCC EFM certification within 1 year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and / or Abilities :
Required :
Use hospital approved equipment, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, well organized and able to remain calm under stress, delegate appropriate tasks, knowledgeable in both DOH and TJC regulations and hospital policy and procedures.
Fetal heart rate monitoring interpretation, principles and practices
Preferred :
Completion of the STABLE Course within 1 year of hire.
