About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of our growing construction company. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of public accounting and industry experience within the construction sector, with a proven ability to manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, oversee financial controls, and optimize systems including SAGE. This role will serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, ensuring accurate financial management, compliance, and forward-looking insights to support growth.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, AP / AR, payroll, and cash management.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead the preparation and review of WIP schedules, job cost reporting, and project performance analysis.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and audit requirements.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Partner with project managers and leadership to provide financial insight into job performance and profitability.
• Lead the utilization and optimization of SAGE accounting software, ensuring accurate reporting and streamlined processes.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and team efficiency.

Base pay range : $150,000.00 / yr - $180,000.00 / yr

Additional compensation types : Annual Bonus
