Your day as Field Service Engineer

What does a typical day look like?

It depends on where you wake up! Our installed base ranges from the Californian valleys to the Great Lakes in the northeast. As our North American-based Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of our service-related activities.

With over 500 handling systems installed worldwide, including many in the US, Canada, and Mexico, we frequently receive requests for inspections, overhauls, and modernizations. When such a request comes in, it's your turn to act.

You have in-depth knowledge of Lan Handling systems and are responsible for delivering service work according to specifications, planning, budget, and quality standards. You enjoy visiting customers, identifying new opportunities to enhance our service level, and providing advice on operation, maintenance, and adjustments, documented in detailed reports.

For example, after a recent inspection, you might be handling a spare parts request. Or, you could be leading the mechanical installation of a new bag line in Texas, as part of a greenfield project starting in two months.

How you get things moving

• 3 - 5 years of experience with (servicing) automated machinery
• Skills in mechanical and electrical assembly
• 60% onsite work, 40% office-based
• Good verbal and written communication skills
