About The Position

Job Title : RN - PCU

Experience : Minimum of 18 months PCU RN experience

License : Current Registered Nurse license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care / dressing changes, and management of central lines.

Description :

Join a progressive care unit that provides patient care for diverse clinical conditions.

The unit accommodates various patients who do not require mechanical ventilation.

Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, chest pain workup, strokes, abdominal illnesses and infections, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, acute kidney injury / chronic kidney disease, and alcohol withdrawal.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1 : 4 and may increase to 1 : 5 based on patient acuity.

You will work alongside a supportive team that includes charge nurses and nurses' aides.

Additional resources such as phlebotomy and respiratory therapy are available 24 / 7.

Telemetry monitoring is conducted at the bedside and at the nurses' station.

Traveling staff may be required to float to different facilities as necessary within their scope of practice.

The unit promotes a family-oriented culture that values collaboration and support among staff.

Weekend rotations are required every other week, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Up to six days off may be approved, excluding holidays, with the requirement to add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Scrub color is navy.
