Flight Safety Officer

We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft. This position is onsite in Fort Worth.
The Flight Safety organization is seeking a Flight Safety Officer (FSO) located at the Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX. The FSO will oversee, review and revise as necessary the comprehensive flight safety program for flight test operations including experimental test, demonstration, and corporate flights.
What you'll be doing as a Flight Safety Officer :
- Work with the leaders of the Flight Operations and Flight Test departments to ensure their standard operating procedures (SOPs) support the company's safety requirements.
- Stay informed of the latest regulatory guidance and industry best practices pertaining to aviation safety. Disseminate new information and ensure company policies and procedures remain in compliance. Proved direct input to pilots, flight test engineers and aircrew by hosting safety stand downs and recurrent safety training.
- Collaborate with Flight Test in developing, updating and approval of individual program's Flight Test Risk Analyses Worksheets (FTRW).
- Be a leader in Flight Test Risk Management through coordination with the Lead Flight Test Engineer of each program and by participating in flight test plan reviews, test flights, pre and post test flight briefings and test readiness reviews.
- Collaborate in the development of and, amendments to, company flight operations and flight test documentation including flight operations manuals, flight test SOPs, local flight procedures, etc. This includes procedures involving ground handling of aircraft.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Safety Management Systems (SMS) to ensure process and procedures support the overall working construct of the SMS and Just Culture.
- Serve as a standing member of the Flight Test Management Committee.
- Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure each facility's inspectable areas are in compliance with the company's Flight Safety Audit Program and that the facility's overall safety is enhanced.
- Perform the duties as chase / support flight aircrew or aerial observer.
