Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele assignment specializing in orthopedic care, requiring a current CA RN license and Ortho experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is on the Med / Surg Telemetry unit focusing on orthopedic patients
  • Hospital setting with the possibility to float to other units or campuses as needed
  • Night shift schedule working 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30
  • Every other weekend is required
  • On-call duties as needed
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • May float within the scope of practice to other units and to other campuses as needed, with shuttle provided
  • Primary duties include patient assessment, care coordination, direct care delivery, patient / family education, and transitions of care in an acute setting
  • Expected to foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Epic charting system used, prior experience preferred
  • Return staff must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible as a traveler
  • Modules and e-learning are completed during orientation, with average completion time of 1-5 hours

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification through AHA
  • Orthopedic nursing experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele nursing experience required
  • Must provide copies of certifications at time of consideration
  • Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of acceptance
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Only one holiday RTO (Request Time Off) will be approved
