Position Summary : Full-time with benefits - The Dining Room Supervisor will oversee dining room operations and staff. This position will guide and training dining room staff in proper techniques for timely service of food to residents. This is a hands-on dining room position which actually performs the service as necessary in the dining room.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

- Hire, supervise, schedule, discipline and direct wait staff with daily work schedules and assignments for the dining room staff.
- Responsible for the purchase of food, supplies, and the maintaining of accurate inventory including expenditure rewards. This responsibility may be shared with the Head Chef or performed collectively.
- Ensure that all dining room systems are functional before, during and after meals.
- Constantly observe food delivery, table satisfaction and bussing procedures.
- Inspect all dining room personal for proper uniforms, name tags and hairstyle.
- Coordinate and assist with the cleaning of Dining Room and maintain strict sanitary standards.
- Respond to complaints from residents / guests and resolve in a positive manner.
- Set-up and support special functions and events as necessary.
- Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the Executive Director.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Perform all other functions and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Meet / exceed established performance goals. Additional performance requirements may be communicated.
- Job Knowledge - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of his / her job processes and procedures. Efficiently use resources (including staff and management) to obtain additional knowledge.

Supervisory Responsibility :
Supervises employees in the department and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible by following policies and applicable laws. Uses independent judgment and discretion on behalf of the organization in the performance of these duties.
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training dining room employees; scheduling, planning, and assigning and directing work; receiving calls and finding replacements for absent staff; preparing performance evaluations, monitoring and correcting job performance of employees, and handling disciplinary action for employees, up to and including discharge; and fixing and approving timecards for payroll.
