JOB SUMMARY :
This position will be under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of mechanical and general maintenance work in the repair and upkeep of the buildings and equipment. Aptitude for and a working knowledge of wood, metal working, electrical, plumbing and construction trades are required. Position involves substantial interaction with all departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
- Perform a variety of carpentry duties; construct, install, repair or replace doors, walls, desks, cabinets, shelving units and all woodwork.
- Perform a variety of finishes, including painting duties; prepare surfaces as necessary to remove dirt and rust. Must be able to operate spray equipment.
- Perform a variety of electrical duties, including but not limited to; install and adjust lighting systems, electrical wirings and switches.
- Perform basic heating and cooling maintenance, including regular inspections and filter services.
- Perform plumbing duties for all locations, including sinks and toilet replacements as well as maintenance of each.
- Perform locksmith duties, including replacement of locks on doors and desks, and duplicate keys, whilst maintaining procedures for security.
- Perform site inspections of each location on a regular basis for both the interior and exterior of the property, including windows, doors, fencing and roofs.
- Participate on the Maintenance On-Call phone rotation; respond to urgent facility-related issues after hours and on weekends when on call.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES :
Participate in mandatory trainings, in-services, and meetings.Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) of the agency.QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from high school, trade school or equivalent. Previous experience in general maintenance preferred.Three years of experience performing a variety of journey-level skilled trades involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, painting, and related general maintenance duties.3. Must have ability to organize assigned jobs and emergency requests. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees at all levels.
Ability to read, write and follow oral or written instructions.5. HVAC license is preferred.
Ability to make general maintenance repairs involving wood, metal working, electrical, plumbing and construction trades.Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Employee will be walking or standing for majority of shift. Continuous lifting of 25-50 lbs., occasional lifting of 50-100 lbs. Position involves stooping, bending, stretching and climbing.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Employee may occasionally be required to drive a motor vehicle.5.
