Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN with 3 years of MS-Tele experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring NM or compact RN licensure and strong telemetry skills. Responsibilities Work in a 26-bed Med / Surg unit within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes medical, surgical, and progressive care (PCU) patients, with occasional PCU coverage as needed Nurse to patient ratios range from 1 : 3 to 1 : 5 Shifts are 12 hours, running from 7am to 7pm, with every other weekend required May be required to titrate multiple drips, including insulin, amiodarone, and levofed Must be able to read and interpret telemetry on Mindray cardiac monitors CPSI charting system is used No floating required for RNs Main responsibilities include direct care for Med / Surg and PCU-level patients, conducting AccuChecks, and collaborating with team members Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor depending on experience Scrub color required is navy blue Holiday rotation and flexibility in scheduling may be required Support staff includes nurse aides at a 1 : 8 ratio Charge nurses take a lesser patient assignment, travelers are not typically asked to act as charge Modules must be completed prior to working on the floor and take approximately 20 hours Requirements Active NM or compact RN license Minimum of 3 years recent MS-Tele experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience titrating drips and monitoring telemetry required Preferred experience in PCU / Stepdown settings Must be able to complete approximately 20 hours of online modules prior to starting Ability to manage respiratory equipment including bipap / cpap First time travelers will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629480.
