Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication - Your Next Adventure as a Speech Language Pathologist Awaits

Overview

Imagine a career where each day breathes new life into the power of communication. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, your expertise will not only address the nuances of communication and swallowing disorders but will also ignite possibilities, foster connections, and celebrate achievements - from energetic toddlers articulating their first words to resilient seniors navigating the complexities of regaining independence.

This position offers a distinctive chance to support an array of individuals across all ages in a harmonious setting that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether your heart lies with pediatric speech development, adult neurological communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic therapies, you will discover joy and adaptability in your practice here.

Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions concentrating on fluency, voice, language, and swallowing enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care approaches.
  • Provide necessary education for patients and families to ensure continued progress beyond therapeutic sessions.
  • Assist in the occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions for comprehensive continuity of patient care.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field via continuing education and cooperative learning with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet obtained ASHA certification.
  • Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of joining.
  • Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches across all age groups with a solid foundation in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adeptness in adjusting therapy methods to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
  • Benefits

  • Attractive compensation package reflective of your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options to promote a work-life equilibrium and diverse caseload opportunities.
  • Options for specializing in areas including pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday remuneration.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development.
  • A collaborative workplace dedicated to high-quality care and a culture of continuous learning.
  • A Career that Resonates with Your Values

In this role, you'll do more than just offer speech therapy; you'll become an integral part of a mission that seeks to restore voices, enhance communication, and create moments filled with joy - through the simplest yet profound human acts of understanding and being understood.

You will be part of a team that embraces each member like family, in an environment that values collaboration over competition. Every patient's journey is unique; you will be trusted to influence the narrative of their communication story.

    Why You'll Thrive in Winston-Salem

Life in Winston-Salem unfolds with a captivating blend of innovation and warm southern hospitality. Nestled among the scenic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and punctuated by rich cultural heritage, this city is a sanctuary for those who appreciate the harmony between nature, community, and career advancement.

Families gather for delightful festivals, where local music fills the air, and the culinary scene entices with everything from food trucks serving creative Southern dishes to upscale dining experiences featuring locally sourced ingredients.

The artistic pulse of the city echoes through its galleries, live-performance venues, and a diverse array of community events that celebrate the richness of life. For aspiring professionals, life in Winston-Salem offers not just an appealing personal lifestyle but economic benefits such as no state income tax, an affordable cost of living, and a thriving healthcare community that provides the perfect backdrop for your career growth.

A space ripe for personal and professional development awaits you here, whether you are embarking on your career journey or looking to expand your horizons.

    Who We Seek

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist driven by a passion for empathy as much as outcomes - someone who perceives a quiet child and imagines a bright future full of self-expression, and who hears a stroke survivor's halting words and feels their determination.

You may be a pediatric-focused clinician looking to branch out into adult therapy or a specialist in neuro-traditional practices eager to engage in early childhood interventions.

If you are ready to lead with compassion and skill, we are eager to welcome you into our community.

    Let's Create Meaningful Connections Together

If you believe that communication is richer than mere sound, and that therapy goes beyond mere tasks - if you value trust as the foundation for reaching goals and find joy in laughter as much as language - this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Join our mission to foster communication, connection, and courage as we empower those who need a voice. Apply today to contribute your talent to our team and assist others in finding their own voices.
