Job description

Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a travel job in Santa Maria, California.

Job Description & Requirements

Position : Cath Lab / IR Tech (with EP lab floating)

Shift : 5x8s, Days (7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM), self-scheduling

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 40 / week

Location : Level 3 Trauma Center

Unit Details

  • Unit : Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology (with EP lab float required)
  • Suites / Labs : 3 total
  • Daily Cases : 8–12
  • Common Procedures :

    • IR : venous placement, port-a-cath, fistula, biliary / neph tubes, IVC filter

  • Cath Lab : L & R heart caths, STEMIs, ICDs, pacemakers, carotids, peripherals
  • EP Lab : Ablations, devices (experience preferred)

    • Call / Weekend / Holiday Requirements

  • Call (RN & Techs) :

    • Weekday : 3 : 30 PM – 7 AM (as needed, 30-min response time, call team = 1 RN + 2 Techs)

  • Weekends : every other weekend, Friday 3 : 30 PM – Monday 7 AM
  • Holidays : call required if working holidays
  • Supervisor : On call after hours

    • Team & Support

  • Charge Nurse : Yes
  • Techs : Dedicated Cath Lab / IR Techs in unit
  • Cardiologist : On call after hours
  • RT 24 / 7 : Yes
  • Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
  • IV Team : No

    • Requirements

  • Certifications : ARRT or RCIS accepted, ACLS, BLS, Fluoro
  • Experience : Minimum 2 years Cath Lab / IR, travel experience preferred, EP lab experience preferred
  • Charting System : Cerner (Philips monitoring)
  • Scrubs : Provided
