Overview
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our In Vitro Models team. In this role, you'll work closely with scientists to develop healthy and diseased human cell models as physiologically relevant platforms for our preclinical and platform pipelines. Your core responsibilities will include maintaining primary cells and human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and guiding their differentiation into specific cell types. You'll process patient-derived samples and contribute to developing patient-derived cell models. You'll also support the scale-up of cell culture operations to enable high-throughput functional genomics and drug discovery workflows. You'll run molecular assays to assess cell quality, characterize cells, and ensure our models are translationally relevant. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in cell culture, including iPSCs, and a strong interest in disease modeling and therapeutic discovery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct iPSC culture, expansion and directed differentiation workflows
- Perform routine and specialized mammalian cell culture, including maintenance and expansion of various cell lines
- Maintain consistent cell quality and optimize cell culture protocols to ensure reproducibility across experiments
- Collaborate with team members to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for scaling disease-relevant in vitro tissue models
- Implement protocols for processing and dissociation of various primary tissues
- Execute molecular biology assays for model characterization, including qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, FACS, and immunocytochemistry
- Implement multi-modal bulk and single cell assays as an integral part of testing workflows
- Maintain detailed, well-organized documentation of experiments and data
