The Washington State Gambling Commission (WSGC) is accepting applications for two (2) Special Agent (Lateral) positions in our Statewide Enforcement Team of our Regulation and Enforcement Unit. Based on the needs of the agency or the applicant the position(s) will be located in a home office or in an agency office in Federal Way.
These positions will be located on the West side of the state. Counties of consideration are Lewis, Thurston, Mason, Kitsap, Pierce, King, Snohomish and Kittitas (Cle Elum & Ellensburg areas).
Special Agents are sworn law enforcement officers and must meet the

Special Agents in the Regulatory and Enforcement Unit, work as a team and in partnerships with other agencies to regulate licensed gambling and enforce gambling rules and laws and investigate illegal gambling activities. The authorized forms of gambling that Special Agents regulate are Card Rooms, Pull Tabs, Raffles, Bingo, Fund Raising Events, and Amusement games. Special Agents on the Statewide Enforcement Team investigate criminal cases for the prosecution of illegal gambling and gambling related crimes. They also provide technical assistance to gambling operations, respond to complaints submitted to the agency and provide education and training to both the public and licensees.

WSGC Law Enforcement Officers may be able to retire at the age of 60 (typically the retirement age for most other state positions is 65) if they meet the eligibility requirements.
Special Agent starting salary ranges from$68,856 - $96,936annually, depending upon your education and experience.
NOTE : 5% Premium Pay will be added to salary above for duty stations in King County.

Out-of-state lateral transfer applicants
will need to provide their basic training academy curriculum / syllabus hours. A curriculum / syllabus should include training titles and the corresponding training hours. Documents will need to be submitted to recruitment@wsgc.wa.gov to determine if you will need to take a full academy or just the equivalency academy.
