Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in construction and a preference for candidates with a degree in Construction Management. This role will oversee roadway construction projects, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to safety standards, and profitability.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing teams, coordinating with customers, and ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. The position also involves overseeing traffic control contracts, production planning, and customer relations while supporting the estimating department on capacity and critical path needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety compliance on all projects.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including permits, drawings, and design plans.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality results.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and mentor project teams, ensuring accountability and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including status reports and close-out reports.
  • Forecast revenue, margins, costs, and project milestones accurately.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, resolving issues and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Oversee branch operations, including DOT compliance and equipment needs.
  • Participate in personnel decisions such as hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Background Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably in traffic control or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, variance analysis, and financial oversight.
  • Experience managing union and labor relations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn ERP systems.
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Involvement with industry associations or state DOT coalitions is desirable.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and pass background and drug screenings.
